Garment cost calculator: find your cost per garment

Add up what one finished garment costs you, including fabric waste, and see the total for an order. Leave a line blank if you do not know it yet; the result will say what it left out.

Formula

Fabric = price per unit × amount used per garment

Waste = fabric × waste %

Cost per garment = fabric + waste + trims + labor + printing + packaging + overhead

Total = cost per garment × quantity

Fabric is always priced and measured in the one unit you choose, so units never get mixed. The currency box is a label only; nothing is converted. How this works and where it falls short.

Order
Text only, for example USD or BDT.
Whole number. Needed for the order total.
Fabric
Pick one. The price and the amount used must both be in this unit.
Choose the unit above first. The price is for one unit of that measure.
How much of that unit one garment uses, before waste.
Extra fabric lost to cutting and defects, as a percent of the fabric cost. Leave blank for none.
Other costs, per garment
Thread, zips, buttons, labels.
Overhead (optional)
Your own allocation. Not an industry figure.
Applied to everything above. If you fill both boxes, both count.
